My Wonderous Adventures.....

1st car that was totaled (belonged to my friend)

2nd car that was totaled(belonged to my sister but I have been driving it Forever.)

I shall start with the first wreck.

I was driving with an old roommate to her home in North Carolina when it happened. It was our first day on our roadtrip and we were in Wyoming almost to Nebraska, it had just gotten dark and we were on a back highway. My friend, Amy, was driving and was I was just lounging in the passenger seat when I heard her say "oh crap" adn looked up to see a relatively large buck jump in front of us. I barely had time to look up before we hit it. I believe that we were going about 65 mph so it was a pretty hard impact. The deer smashed up the front of the car and the hood and was thrown over to my side of the car and it dented the hood and took of the mirror. We went about 100 yards and there was a nice little place to pull of and we shut off the car and got out to access the damage. We ended up waiting on the side of the road for about an hour for the cop and about 2 hours for the tow truck. We hit the deer around 9 pm and got to the little town we stayed in around midnight. Her parents worked everything out and we finished the trip in a rental car.

Now for the second wreck. about 3 weeks after the first one occured.

I was on my way out to Jill's to stay with her for a few days. It was around 11 pm and I was about 10 miles or so from Jill's when I topped a hill and saw, from the other direction, a car trying to pass a pickup. When she saw me she tried to move back over but clipped the tail end of the pickup and came back over into my lane. I yelled no and I tried to get out of her way but didn't make it and she slammed into me starting at the front corner of the car and shearing the side off to my door and breaking my axle. The car literally just dropped down and didn't move another inch. She and the pickup continued on down the road for a couple hundred yards and then she went through a steel gate and fence and took out some posts and the pickup went through the fence and was wrapped up in a six strand barbed wire fence. After she hit me I tried to get out of the car but the door wouldn't budge(the tire was shoved clear back into my door and the frame was a bit messed up) Then the car started to smoke and smelled nasty so I got a little scared and used all I had to shove the door open just enough that I could fit through. Once I was out of the car and saw the damage I sank to the ground and tried to talk to Jill...I may have lost it for a bit trying to take in that the car was a wreck, that I was fine but in shock and that the girl had been stupid enough to pass on a hill when she couldn't see oncoming traffic. There had been two other vehicles on the road that saw what happened and they stopped to help and make sure we were alright. One of the guys came over to help me and the others went over to the other vehicles. I had no clue if they were ok so as soon as I calmed down I headed over to make sure everyone else was ok. We were all fine except for being bruised and sore and the girl had a srape on her arm from a side airbag. After that it was mostly just waiting for the cops and tow trucks to show up. Jill and Vance came and stayed with me and picked me up once the cops were finished. I think that we got back to Jill's around 1 am. It was a long night. The next day i went and cleaned out the car. It was pretty sad, I had been driving that car for 6 or 7 years.

Well...thats all folks.

Randomness

So I am curently taking 3 online classes. Only 8 credits, I know, I am being lazy. Lets just say that online classes are not really my favorite. They are not horrid, just not my favorite. I have to admit that I dont much like staring at a computer screen for hours on end, reading and trying to understand exactly what the teacher wants. Sometimes it is very confusing. But, oh well! My goal is to do my very best to not procrastinate on ANY assignments. Also I have a goal to train for and run a half marathon! Wish me luck, and if any of you have any idea how to get up the motivation to go and run in this lovely Rexburg weather, Please share! I have to admit that even though I just whined a lot about the online classes that I am very grateful that I have the oppertunity to take them. I have been extremely blessed in my life and being able to go to college has been one of the major blessings.

2012 :)

A new year has begun. I keep seeing/hearing others say how horrible this past year was and that they hope this year will be better and I kinda disagree with them. I think that every year that we get to live and learn and go through things is a wonderful gift. What we do and our Attitude determines how everything goes. What we take out of everything that happens is our own personal choice. I hope that I can be smart enough to look at everything and say, "I am glad that happened because of what it taught me." Even if it wasn't that great or at the time I felt that it was horrible. I know that I have learned the most from those times, and I am extremely grateful for that. I had a wonderful year this past year and every year before that and I hope that it continues on this year. As I said earlier, it is my choice. :) Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas :)

This Christmas went by way too fast!  Even though it was only us single kids this year it was still a blast and I didn't want it to be over. We cooked a tons of food and had a lot of fun finishing and wrapping gifts (last gift was wrapped around 5 pm Christmas day) We opened presents around 6 pm. Typical Christmas for us Saunders :)

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! Seriously, the spirit that surrounds this time of year is so wonderful, peaceful and good! I have decided that I love listening to the Mo Tab Choir sing any and all Christmas songs, especially Still, Still, Still. It is one of my favorites.

Also I am inserting pictures of some of the food that we made. We had tons of fun. :) I love cooking!!

Teddy Bears!

Isn't he so cute and chubby?? :)

Swedish Tea Roll.

Turnovers for Christmas breakfast.

With Alena..

then Brenda...

Hmm...looks like I was the one doing all the cooking...Brenda? Alena? what do you have to say for yourselves?? :) Really though, B helped a lot and of course Mom was helping also.  Too many cooks = WAY Too much good food.

Every year we take a photo on the stairs before we can go up and open our presents. When we were younger we would sit on the stairs waiting and Dad would be upstairs pretending to play with all of our toys that Santa had brought. Saying how cool and fun they all were and that we couldn't come up til he had played with all of them. :) He even added the sound effects and we kids we get even more inpatient to be up there with him playing. :) I love that memory.

Basically being with family is wonderful and I am so grateful for each and every member of my family. I am so glad for the time that I have gotten to spend with so many of them lately. Especially with how spread apart we are all getting. I love my family and am glad that we will all be together eternally.

Christmas Time :)

This is my brother Matt, he loves to tease everyone and be the annoying younger brother and bossy older brother. Yesterday he got up around 11 and than whenever we asked him to do anything he would whine about how we hadn't made him breakfast and that he was dying of startvation. My sister Brenda decided to give him breakfast in bed so he couldn't whine about it anymore....I was thinking that will just make him demand it more...he still got it :) spoiled child. :) Really though I love Matty boy and am grateful he is my brother.

Also this morning we woke up to a suprise. our beautiful Christmas tree that we had decorated so well (my Dad said it was the best decorated tree that he had seen in years) had toppled over and spilled its decorations all over the room. But no worries! we got it put back up and than for some reason I was elected to re-decorate it..by myself. It got me out of cleaning the kitchen though so I am ok with it :)

Before...

After! :)

We also made fudge today.  I love chocolate!!!! I may have licked the spoon..and the spatula...and yes I am basically still a little kid.

I Love Christmas! I Love my Family! I Love my Friends! I Love Chocolate! Heck, I love food! (As you can definitely tell by looking at me) oh well! :) Basically I just love a lot of things...

I am so grateful that I have a Heavenly Father to look up to for direction, forgiveness, comfort and love.
